The 33 year old sees his future away from Germany and told reporters recently that his time with Bayern Munich is up.
“Am I optimistic about signing for Barca? It’s a big question. I don’t like being in this situation. What is certain at the moment is that my career at Bayern is over.
“I don’t see any chance of continuing my career at this club. Let’s see what we can do in the next two weeks, I don’t want to continue at the club and I would like to focus on Poland… we will have time to talk about the situation, but I don’t see any possibility to stay.
Lewandowski has formed a strong partnership with Thomas Muller in the heart of the Bayern attack with both players combining for a large number of goals over their eight years playing together.
It is Muller who is however pushing for that duo to continue tearing teams apart as he pleads with the seven time Bundesliga top scorer to rethink his decision to depart the six time European champions.
“I want the one who has been my offensive partner [Lewandowski] for years to continue,” Muller told Kicker via Marca. “We are in the summer break and it is a time in which we have experienced many things. I remember Franck Ribery’s desire to go to Real Madrid.”
Muller went on to say: “Any player who is still at Bayern on September 1 will want to play well, because playing badly is something that does not satisfy anyone… our relationship [Muller and Lewandowski] on the field is known.
“But, naturally, the business is such that this can change. In general, there is something key: the club is more important than us, the players.”
The former Dortmund striker has scored a staggering 344 goals in 375 appearances across eight years for the Bavarians.

Seven time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi has declared that his Argentina side are ready to fight their way to lifting the country’s third World Cup trophy in Qatar later this year.
The diminutive PSG forward helped his nation to their second title this year as they overcame European champions Italy 3-0 at Wembley in a clash between champions of CONMEBOL and Europe.

Messi was obviously on fire as he set up both the first and third goal for Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala to finish respectively.
He has now immediately shifted focus to the forthcoming World Cup in Qatar which kicks off in November.
Anticipating his country’s World Cup prospects, Messi explained: “We keep growing, that’s what we are looking for. We are working on a day by day basis in order to improve further. We continue to say that we are not the top favorites, but we will put up a fight against anyone, because this group is hopeful, it has clear goals.
“We must keep improving. Now we have important matches in September, we need to work and improve in order to arrive the best way possible at our World Cup debut.”
The 34 year old struggled for form in his first season in Paris but is determined to continue at the capital club next season in order to prove his worth.
