Müller will play for the rest of the 2025 season with an option to extend his contract as a Designated Player for 2026. To finalize the deal, Vancouver paid FC Cincinnati up to $400,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) to acquire Müller’s Discovery Priority.
The payment is composed of two parts: a guaranteed $300,000 in GAM, which will be paid out over this season and the next, and an additional $100,000 in GAM, which is conditional upon certain factors.
“Thomas is a world-class player – the ultimate Raumdeuter; interpreter of space – known for his elite chance creation, unmatched spatial awareness, and relentless off-the-ball movement,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC CEO & sporting director.
