Brazilian winger, Phillipe Coutinho has now become a peripheral figure at Barcelona and the club have resolved to move him on in the coming January transfer window.

More Details

This can be used to strengthen the team and the fact that he earns a salary in the region of €22m per season despite contributing little is all the more reason why the Catalans are desperate to sell him.

Coutinho, who seems to have success away from the Camp Nou, winning the UEFA Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich while he was on loan with the German side, has accumulated 608 minutes across 16 matches this season under both Koeman and Xavi, but is consistently being overlooked in favour of unproven teenagers.

His days at Camp Nou appears to be numbered. English side, Liverpool, from where he joined Barcelona don’t seem to have any interest in reacquiring him but their Meryerside neighbor, Everton are looking to snap him up to arrest their downward slide down the English Premier League table as they are currently 14th on the table with just 19 points after 17 rounds of matches.

The club who recently hired Rafa Benitez, also a former Liverpool manager would be looking to take the player on loan for the rest of the season but they will have to contend with two other clubs from the English Premier League, namely Newcastle and West Ham.

The Tyneside club, who recently got acquired by a Saudi-state backed investment fund, hence, they have the financial might to go for Coutinho and also West Ham, whose interest is not that firm at the moment but could accelerate for the Brazilian if he’s requested for by their coach.

The Hammers, who are currently fifth on the table and have the chance of making the top four if they can keep their current momentum going.
