With just over a year remaining on his current deal, Son has once again shown great form for Tottenham this season, tallying 13 goals and dishing out six assists in 24 games across all competitions.
Spurs and the South Korean captain have reportedly begun negotiations on a new contract, and the team is optimistic that an agreement will be finalised this summer, according to Football Insider.
If talks turn sour, Tottenham does have the option to add another year to the forward’s contract, extending his term until the summer of 2026. This gives them time to work out a new agreement.
The situation is reportedly being closely monitored by Saudi Pro League clubs, but Son is reportedly content in London and intends to stay with Spurs for the foreseeable future.
Tottenham captain for the 2023–24 season, the South Korean’s play has been crucial in positioning Ange Postecoglou’s team to contend for a Champions League finish in the Premier League standings.
