“I would not mind if they left,” Ceferin said in an interview published this weekend in Der Spiegel. “It is very funny that they want to create a new competition and at the same time they want to play in the Champions League this season. These three clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus) simply have incompetent leaders. Those guys (Florentino Perez, Joan Laporta and Andrea Agnelli) tried to kill football.”
In an interview he granted, he pointed out that if the three clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus) who are still hoping for the creation of the Super League after the others have jumped ship should leave UEFA, it would not be a source of worry for the association.
Ceferin is also proposing some changes to the Financial Fair Play regulations, with mandatory payments being imposed on clubs that exceed a certain limit when it comes to spending, and he suggested that the proceeds should be shared among the other clubs. “In the future, we want to talk about a competitive balance rather than financial fair play,” he said.
He also made a slight dig at Real Madrid’s failed move for Kylian Mbappe, criticizing Florentino Perez specifically, saying “He (Perez) is criticising UEFA, and saying that the club can only survive with a Super League and then is trying to sign Kylian Mbappe for 180 million euros.”
The UEFA president also revealed that he was threatened during a call with a Super League advisor, who suggested that UEFA could organise the new competition.
When Ceferin rejected the idea, he was told that the interested clubs had a lot of money and influence and that they were going to sue him if he did not give in.

Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti will have reasons to smile ahead of this weekend match against Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With the various injuries and possible absence of some players due to international commitment, the Los Blancos squad have been bolstered by the return of Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba and Luka Jovic from their respective national teams without injury and ready to go into the squad ahead of their La Liga match and also looking ahead to their Champions League match against Inter Milan next week.
Nacho Fernandes has also returned from injury that kept him out of the Los Blancos last match against Real Betis.
