US Soccer Agree To Media Deal With Two Outfits

United States (U.S) Soccer has agreed to a new media rights deal with Turner Sports and HBO, the two entities announced this week.

Turner will be a domestic rightsholder (English) for World Cup home qualifiers, friendlies, send-off matches, and special events, such as SheBelieves Cup.

The deal runs for eight years, beginning in 2023. Turner Sports and HBO will hold the English-language rights to USWNT matches, replacing ESPN and Fox Sports, who hold the rights through 2022.

More than 20 matches between the USMNT and the USWNT will be held annually on HBO Max, with about half also on TNT or TBS.

Fox Sports will still hold the rights to the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Turner will hold the rights for World Cup home qualifiers, friendlies, send-off matches, and special events like the SheBelieves Cup.

The US Men’s National Team (USMNT) will next face Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica in its next three games of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Women’s National Team (USWNT) won the SheBelieves Cup during the last international break.
