The United States (US) Women’s team led by Ali Krieger and Heather O’Reilly defeated the North Carolina Courage 6-3 to win the maiden women’s event at The Soccer Tournament (TST) and claim the $1 million prize.

The seven players against seven events were concluded Monday in Cary, North Carolina, with Talia Dellaperuta scoring the clinching goal.

Apart from Krieger and O’Reilly, the team included other former United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) stars such as Lori Lindsey, Allie Long, and Lori Lawson.

Carla Overbeck, Carli Lloyd, Michelle Akers and Mia Hamm were all involved as coaches with the squad.

The winnings were split equally among the 25-strong group, with each member earning $40,000.

The US Women were beaten in their opening game of the group stage by Streetball FC Canada but won all of their remaining matches en route to the title.

TST will return at the end of May 2025 for its next edition.


The current USWNT will hope to continue their post-2023 FIFA Women's World Cup form at the Olympics later this year.

They have won 14 out of their 16 games with their only loss against Mexico at the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup and a draw with Colombia.

Their next two games against Mexico and Costa Rica will further prepare the team for the Olympics.

Emma Hayes's side will face Zambia, Germany, and Australia in the group stage of the women's football event of the Olympics.
