USWNT Stars Lead 2025 US Soccer Award Finalists As Voting Opens
The U.S. Women’s National Team is targeting yet another milestone to close out 2025, with U.S. Soccer unveiling the finalists for its annual end-of-year awards.
More Details
Defender Emily Fox, midfielders Sam Coffey and Rose Lavelle, and forwards Alyssa Thompson and Catarina Macario headline the shortlist for the 2025 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year award following standout performances for club and country.
Rising talents are also in the spotlight, as defenders Jordyn Bugg, Pearl Cecil, and Lily Reale, along with forwards Micayla Johnson and Riley Tiernan, have been nominated for Young Female Player of the Year — an award recognizing exceptional contributions at the youth national team level.
The USWNT itself earned a nomination for Game of the Year, thanks to its dominant 3–0 win over arch-rivals Canada in July, a match that showcased the team’s growing cohesion under head coach Emma Hayes.
Club achievements will play a key role in determining the winners. Fox lifted the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy with Arsenal in May, while Macario captured the WSL title with Chelsea.
