USWNT To Play SheBelieves Cup In April As New Coach Earns FIFA Honour

Despite the Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup taking over its usual place on the calendar, the SheBelieves Cup will return in 2024.

The SheBelieves Cup will take place during the April international break, with four teams participating in two games each.

Instead of three games taking place in a round-robin style, the 2024 tournament will include two semifinals, followed by a third-place and title game.

The semifinal round will take place in Atlanta on April 6, the city that will house U.S. Soccer’s headquarters following the building of a centralized training facility.

A Walk Into Euro 2024 (Group F)

The United States Women's National Team (USWNT's) competitors have yet to be announced, though the teams all will have participated in the 2023 World Cup, according to U.S. Soccer.

The venue for the second round on April 9 is also yet to be announced.


Incoming USWNT head coach Emma Hayes is among the three finalists for the FIFA Best Coach award.

Hayes is in consideration for her work at Chelsea FC after winning the English Women's Super League (WSL) for a fourth straight year as well as the FA Cup last season.

The other two nominees are England manager Sarina Wiegman and FC Barcelona’s Jonatan Giráldez.

The award winners are set to be announced on January 15 in London.
