The Whitecaps will now face Eastern Conference champions Inter Miami CF on December 6th, with both teams vying for their first Philip F. Anschutz Trophy.
The Whitecaps secured a commanding lead early in the match, scoring three goals in the first half. The scoring started just eight minutes in, as Andrés Cubas assisted White for the opening goal.
Before San Diego FC (SDFC) could recover, Vancouver doubled their lead when Ahmed scored, the shot deflecting in off goalkeeper Pablo Sisiniega. White completed his brace before halftime, chesting in an Ahmed cross to give the Whitecaps a 3-0 advantage.

SDFC managed to pull one back in the 60th minute when second-half substitute Chucky Lozano scored a long-range, deflected goal that sailed over Yohei Takaoka. However, San Diego’s hopes for a comeback were crushed when Sisniega received a red card in the 79th minute for fouling Ryan Gauld.
The Whitecaps have had a truly unforgettable season, silencing early critics by securing the Concacaf Champions Cup finalist spot, becoming Western Conference champions, and winning the Canadian Championship for the fourth consecutive year.
The addition of global star Thomas Müller mid-season has significantly fueled the belief that Vancouver could finally achieve their first-ever MLS Cup victory.
