The Football Association has now charged the Gunners manager, who called the VAR decision to not disqualify Anthony Gordon’s goal in his team’s 1-0 loss at St. James’ Park “an absolute disgrace.”

In order to determine whether Joelinton had fouled Arsenal defender Gabriel, whether the ball had left the play before Joe Willock’s cross, and whether Gordon had been offside, VAR performed a triple check.

Dein, the vice-chairman of Arsenal for almost 20 years, thought Arteta went too far in his objections, despite a decision that PGMOL chief Howard Webb later clarified and backed last week.

When discussing Arteta’s outburst on talkSPORT, Dein was questioned if he would have stood up for him if he had been at Arsenal. ‘It wouldn’t have happened. But we’re in an emotional game and these things do happen, I think it’s unfortunate, and you live and learn,’ said Dein

‘There is a process in place for how they deal with these things and I just think it was a little bit unnecessary. I don’t think it did the image of the club any good.’

Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.

Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
