Vieira Captures First Palace Signing

Olise with Patrick Vieira

Story by Jacobs Dunga

Patrick Vieira has signed his first player since taking over the reins at Crystal Palace. The club’s official website announced the signing of an Anglo-Nigerian who was named the EFL best young player of the year in the just-concluded season.

Michael Olise scored seven goals and assisted another twelve in the Championship last season while playing for Reading FC. He was formerly of Man city academy from where he joined Reading Fc. Speaking to palace tv after the completion of the deal he said, “I had a conversation with the manager and he was talking about how he sees me in the team: the plans, the development, and the vision for the club.

It’s very good, so I thought it was a good fit.

“It’s a big moment: Premier League football.

The Premier League is known to be the top league in the world, so it’s going to be a lot tougher.

But nothing that I’m not ready for”.

He has been assigned the number 7 jersey and would look to replicate the form that made him so popular last season.

The player has been on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation for a while now but the young forward is yet to decide his international future.
