Martin Odegaard uses his captain’s notes, which are published in the matchday program, to reveal the atmosphere in the camp before to each Emirates Stadium match.
More Details
The captain considers Arsenal’s derby day triumph over Tottenham Hotspur, the necessity to go on a long run of form and exacting revenge for Villa’s victory on our pitch last season before tonight’s match against Aston Villa. Here’s a snippet of what the Captain said:

“For us, the fans, and everyone at the club, Wednesday’s victory was enormous. It’s a big outcome for us because we understand the significance of that game and we also needed the victory.
“We played some outstanding football and maintained control of the game the entire time. Even though the final outcome was close, we definitely deserved to win, and we gave a fantastic effort all around. Although there should have been more, the victory is what matters, and it gives us a huge boost following those two home cup games.
“In terms of my own performance, I believe I’m returning to my peak. Although it’s not quite there yet, it’s improving following the injury earlier in the season. I also experienced some illness, which made me feel bad for a while.
“I feel like I’m playing well and creating a lot of opportunities in the games right now, and I’m in excellent physical health. Nevertheless, I should have scored, and I’m incredibly irritated that I was unable to accomplish my goal.

“From the beginning to the end, the stadium’s atmosphere was just outstanding. After the last two games, there was a lot of hostility on social media, but for us, it was overwhelming to see the enthusiasm and support at the stadium.
“Like we did at this point last season, we must now go on a run. Of course, everyone is unhappy that we lost in the third round of the FA Cup last year, but we need to try to see it differently this time.
“Since we will have less games, let’s attempt to find as many positive aspects as we can. Let’s play a fantastic second half of the season, just like we did the year before. We wish to correct that and demonstrate that we have grown from it. We must ensure that we win this time and be prepared for it.
