Along with France, Gareth Southgate’s team is considered the frontrunner to win the championship; strong competitors for the title are expected to be France, Germany and Portugal.

In their remaining two group-stage matches in Germany, England will play Denmark and Slovenia after starting their Group C campaign against Serbia on Sunday night.

Following a fantastic debut season at Arsenal, Rice will be a key member of his country’s squad this summer, and the former Chelsea youngster has talked-up his team’s prospects of winning the title.

“I think the team has got more experience. The squad level is stronger. [It used to be] Man United and Chelsea winning every season, whereas now you’ve got the Liverpools, the [Manchester] Citys, the Arsenals. [That more of England’s players now know what it’s like to win] puts us in good stead,” he told the London Evening Standard.

“We know what we’ve got to do to win. We’ve got no excuses. The Euros are the last thing now that can really help me get over the hurt. Seeing Italy lift that cup in front of us last time: that feeling’s still in our belly. We want to get that now.

“Putting on that shirt before a major tournament again: that is such a good feeling. I feel like we’re ready. I’m ready.”

Granit Xhaka, the captain of Switzerland, stated that his squad is certain they can have a significant impact at this summer’s European Championship because of their performance at Euro 2020.

A-Team had their best-ever showing in the tournament as they advanced to the quarterfinals of Euro 2020, where they notably defeated France in the round of 16.

Murat Yakin’s side will compete in Group A at Euro 2024, with Hungary, Germany, and Scotland. On June 15, they will lock horns with Hungary at the RheinEnergieStadion.
