Kante spent only one season at the King Power Stadium before securing a £32 million transfer to Chelsea in 2016. He would play for the Blues for seven seasons, totaling 269 appearances in all competitions.
The Guardian reports that West Ham is hoping to sign Kante from Al Ittihad this summer and that talks between the two teams are continuing, with both sides eager to close a deal.
Although Kante is reportedly happy at his Middle Eastern club, he would be willing to go back to London in less than a year after leaving Chelsea.

Kante, who showcased his enormous talent for France at just concluded European championship, he would potentially cost West Ham in the region of £20 million.
Julen Lopetegui, a longtime Kante fan who was eager to sign the midfield player during his brief time as Real Madrid’s manager, is currently in charge of West Ham.
The Hammers are reportedly keen to sign a new defensive midfield player this summer after the decided not to sign Kalvin Phillips on a permanent transfer after a disappointing loan spell.
