The 28-year-old has made 49 appearances for the Italian giants but is understood to have handed in a transfer request earlier this month, despite having 18 months remaining on her contract in Turin.

Cascarino becomes the first signing under new West Ham manager Rita Guarino, marking an early statement of intent under the club’s new leadership.

“I’m really pleased to be joining,” Cascarino said.
“I know West Ham is a big club in England and I’m excited to be part of this project.”

The experienced defender previously spent six months on loan at Manchester United in 2023, making two appearances, and brings a wealth of experience from spells at Paris Saint-Germain, Bordeaux, Paris FC and Lyon.

Outlining her qualities, Cascarino described herself as a combative and technically gifted defender.

“I’m a technical player who is aggressive in my defending,” she said.
“I’m here to bring my leadership and experience to help the team on and off the pitch.”

Looking ahead to her new challenge in the Barclays Women’s Super League, Cascarino added: “I’m proud of what I have achieved so far in my career and I’m looking forward to this next chapter at West Ham, in the best league in the world.”
