Why Tammy Abraham Had To Be Sold Off Quickly As Milan Defender Rejects Transfer
Written By Onyeka Daniel
Despite initial reports of a €20m deal to sell off former Chelsea forward, Tammy Abraham to Besiktas, it looks like the actual figure might be a bit lower as his exit appears to be rushed and forced after spending the just concluded season on loan at AC Milan.
More Details
According to the recent reports, Roma hope to conclude the deal with the Turkish club for Abraham tonight, but it’s going to be for €15m plus bonuses and that is not the only change expected. The Giallorossi had been asking for €20m and it appeared that there was an agreement yesterday, but there has been a change as of today.

This move is basically forced for the Italian side who need to complete the sale by midnight today to make a profit and avoid Financial Fair Play penalties. According to Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu and Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, the verbal agreement has now been reached on €15m plus bonuses
.The other significant difference is that it might be is a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season. That will allow Roma to register it as a guaranteed profit, but also for Besiktas to spread out the cost of the operation .The clubs are now preparing the paperwork and are rushing to get it done.
Abraham has already accepted the move and agreed personal terms for a four-year contract and despite helping Milan win the Supercoppa Italiana trophy, his move was not made permanent, hence his return to the capital city club before joining Besiktas.
In a related development Malick Thiaw is unlikely to accept an offer from Serie A side Como as the German centre-back reportedly aims to return to the Bundesliga. According to Calciomercato, Milan and Como already had an agreement and the Diavoli have also given their green light.
This is to allow Como to negotiate with the defender, who is not part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans. According to earlier reports, Milan were ready to send both Thiaw and Alvaro Morata to the Cesc Fabregas coached side in a €40m transfer package.
However, Thiaw seems unconvinced as his priority is to return to the Bundesliga this summer, if he eventually leaves the Rossoneri, unlike Morata who is willing to return to the Serie A following his abrupt exit in January and is ready to terminate his loan deal with Galatasaray.

For Thiaw, the 23-year-old believes that a return to his native country would give him more chances to be called up by the Germany national team in 2025-26. Hence, he is expected to reject a €4m-a-year contract offer from the Azzurri and wait for a proposal from Germany.
