Celtic’s leadership is still undecided about whether to offer interim manager Martin O’Neill a long-term contract.
The club has a packed schedule coming up after the international break, including a cup final. This upcoming period will give the board more time to assess the situation.
It’s suggested that delaying the decision could allow them to consider other managerial candidates who might become available later in the year.
Sky Sports News reports that the Scottish-based club is happy with how O’Neill has improved the team’s performance and boosted morale at Celtic Park. Principal shareholder Dermot Desmond and O’Neill are scheduled to meet this week.

Meanwhile, Celtic is considering several candidates for a managerial role, including Wales manager Craig Bellamy, Club Brugge’s Nicky Hayen, and Ferencvaros boss Robbie Keane.
Kieran McKenna, the Ipswich Town boss and a contender for the role, insists he is solely focused on Ipswich and has confirmed that Celtic has not made any approach to him.
Craig Bellamy, the Wales manager and former Celtic player who the club admires, is also heavily concentrating on his current role, specifically preparing the Welsh national team for their crucial upcoming World Cup Qualifiers and the 2026 World Cup in the USA, as reported by Sky Sports News.
