WNBA All-Star: Will You See Your Favourites In Chicago?

The dates are set, the host city has been announced, and now it’s time for fans to pick their favorite players to join the 2022 WNBA All-Star game.

A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, and Candace Parker have the most fan votes in the early stages.
As of this weekend, Wilson led the league in fan votes with 21,688 tallies after starring in Las Vegas’s 11-2 start to the season.

Stewart sat in second with 20,866 votes, and Parker rounded out the top three with 17,475.
Reflecting the Aces’ hot start, Kelsey Plum sat in fourth with 17,158 votes, alongside teammate Jacking Young in seventh with 12,222.

The Seattle Storm also had a strong early showing, with Sue Bird in ninth with 9,299 votes and Jewell Loyd in 10th with 9,266.

Rounding out the top 10 are Elena Delle Donne in fifth with 13,626 votes, Sylvia Fowles in sixth with 13,272, and Nneka Ogwumike in eighth with 10,933.

Fan votes are just one part of the process to get players to Chicago on July 10, though they do carry the most weight.

The fan vote amounts to 50% of the total tally, with media and players rounding out the field at 25% each.

Fans are given the opportunity to vote once every 24 hours until Monday, June 20.
The two players with the most fan votes (currently Wilson and Stewart) will be named team captains, while the coaches of the two teams with the best records going into the break will lead each squad.

Meanwhile…

The top 10 players will be All-Star starters, and an additional 12 All-Star reserves will be selected by the two head coaches and announced on June 28.

The captains will then get to pick their teams during the WNBA All-Star Team Selection Special, on Saturday, July 2.

The WNBA All-Star game gives everyone a little bit of a break and a chance to celebrate the best of the best while having a little bit of unadulterated fun.

The party is being held at Wintrust Arena in Chicago this year, and it’s up to the fans to make sure their favorites are in attendance.
