WNBA: Tune In To Chicago Vs Connecticut

As we settle into June, three WNBA teams have been a cut above the rest in the early stages of the season.
More Details
The Las Vegas Aces, Connecticut Sun, and Chicago Sky have the three best records in the league after a strong run of games at the end of May.
Connecticut and Las Vegas have split their two matchups so far, and the Aces downed Chicago 83-76 in their one meeting this year.
Now it’s Connecticut and Chicago’s turn to meet for the first time in 2022, with both teams hitting a comfortable stride before a 2021 semifinals rematch tonight.
While it’s worth tuning in any time two good teams have a primetime slot, the way the Sky surged past the No. 1 seed Sun in last year’s playoffs adds an extra element of intrigue to this one.

Connecticut brings back many of its stars from last season, including 2021 MVP Jonquel Jones, who is still getting into the flow of becoming the focal point of the team’s offense.
Similarly, 2021 Finals MVP Kahleah Copper has taken some time to get reacquainted with the Sky after joining the team late from overseas.
The consensus last year was that the Sun had a significant advantage over Chicago in the paint, but they couldn’t get Jones involved enough to overcome the eventual champions.
Meanwhile…
The Sky have added Emma Meesseman, who’s helped them set their defensive tone early this year.

Julie Allemand should also be available.
The Sun, though, has been lights out from the 3-point range in 2022, and as seen in their win in Las Vegas, they have the ability to take advantage of 1v1 matchups and put games out of reach.
These teams expect to be firmly in the playoff picture at the end of the summer, and how they match up against each other now will inform what comes next.
