WSL: Manchester United And Brighton Continue Early Title Push

Manchester United occupies the third position, a point behind leader Manchester City, at the top of the 2024/2025 English Women’s Super League (WSL) table after playing three games with an outstanding match against holders Chelsea FC.

The Reds defeated Tottenham 3-0 to maintain their perfect start to the league season thanks to a brace from Elisabeth Terland.
Terland scored the first goal at the Leigh Sports Village in the 44th minute firing home Celin Bizet Ildhusoy’s cross.
Both combined for the second goal in the additional minutes of the first half as Terland headed home.
After a foul inside the box, Maya Le Tissier converted a penalty to increase the lead to three.

Manchester United remained the only team yet to concede a goal in the WSL this season after three games.
Elsewhere, Brighton won their third game of the campaign edging newly promoted Crystal Palace 1-0.
Bruna Vilamala scored the winning goal from Frank Kirby’s assist in the 35th minute.
The team occupies the fourth position with nine points, the same as Chelsea FC and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Everton forced Westham to a 1-1 draw after Anouk Denton had put the visitors ahead in the 10th minute.
Saez Oyaneder’s own goal restored parity for the host in the 72nd minute.
Everton remained bottom of the log with 12 points, while Westham also had the same number of points in 11th place.
