Jutgla has had a strong start to the season for Club Brugge in Belgium, and he scored in their midweek 2-0 Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.
“It was going to be very difficult for him here,” Xavi said on Saturday. “Robert Lewandowski was coming, so where do we play him? He wasn’t going to have hardly any minutes so it was best for him to leave.
“In the future? We don’t rule anything out with him and I am really delighted that he’s performing well because he deserves it.
“We knew him from his time in youth football and at Sant Andreu and the reports were brilliant. He always performed to a good level with Barça, but with the signings this summer it wasn’t easy. His performances in the Champions League have been great and that’s not easy.
“Performing away from Barça is always easier than doing it here. He has had the chance to do it abroad and he is taking advantage of it, but it’s clear that doing it for Barça is another thing. But he always did what was needed here, he just wasn’t going to have a place in the team.”

Barçelona youngster Pablo Torre is being tipped to make his La Liga debut for Barcelona against Celta Vigo on Sunday at the Camp Nou.
The 19-year-old’s only appearance for the Spanish giants so far came as a late substitute in the Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen at the start of September.
According to multiple reports from Relevo “everything indicates” Torre will get some minutes in Barcelona’s next match.
Xavi is expected to make a few changes to his team as he’ll have one eye on Wednesday’s match against Inter and also has some injury issues in midfield.
