“You Are Not Messi” — Salah Issued Stark Warning Following Van Dijk Support

Following Liverpool’s disappointing 3-3 draw against Leeds, star player Mohamed Salah unleashed a furious public tirade against the club, expressing his frustration over his diminished role.

Salah, who was left on the bench for the second time in three Premier League games and had to watch as Liverpool conceded a late 96th-minute equalizer, suggested there was a deliberate attempt to scapegoat him within the club.

Salah’s explosive comments led one former Liverpool player to issue a sharp rebuke, reminding Salah that he does not possess the unique, untouchable status of a player like Lionel Messi.

The situation creates further turmoil for under-fire manager Arne Slot as he and his team struggle to stabilize their season amidst poor results. Despite the controversy, the article notes that Salah still retains some support within Anfield.

After being benched for the third time in a row at Leeds, the forward’s frustration peaked. Following Liverpool’s most recent missed opportunity, he reportedly criticized both the club and the manager in a stunning outburst that left fans shocked, according to the Mirror.

“I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season. Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why,” declared Salah following Saturday’s draw. “It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus.

“That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame. I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far I am on the bench for three games, so I can’t say they kept the promise.

“I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why, but it seems to me that someone doesn’t want me at the club.”

Stan Collymore, a former Liverpool player, disagreed with Mohamed Salah’s public comments and criticized the Egyptian forward on X (formerly Twitter). Collymore reportedly showed no sympathy for Salah, essentially putting him in his place and reminding him that he isn’t the most important figure.

“Mo maybe has almost tricked himself onto elevating himself to the untouchable status of Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo, players who could, if they chose, literally do and say as they pleased in the last decade. Mo isn’t them, and Liverpool as I said, isn’t that club either.”
