Interested Clubs Struggling To Meet The Asking Price For Albert Gudmundsson

Written By Onyeka Daniel

It’s no longer a secret that Italian club, Genoa could lose their star player, Albert Gudmundsson in the coming summer transfer window with lots of club interested in his services, especially in Italy and the Il Grifone have been open to selling him too.

More Details

In fact, they were reportedly close to offloading him in January. However, no suitor was willing to pay €30 million for the impressive attacker, and his value has since increased. Genoa knows they have a top talent on their hands and will try to maximise their profit when he leaves.

Because of their recent sales of Rade Dragusin to Tottenham Hotspur in the last January transfer window, they are not cash-strapped, making the signing of Gudmundsson even more complicated for Juventus, Inter Milan and his other suitors.

The Bianconeri have been following the Iceland international for several months, but Tuttojuve reveals he is becoming too expensive for them. Genoa has added €10 million to his original market value, and he is now worth €40 million, a fee that Juve might consider too expensive.

Inter Milan is also interested in securing his signature, but at the current price, he is also too expensive for the Nerazzurri to acquire. While clubs from England will have no problem paying that fee, there are no top club from the Premier League interested in him, so his future probably lies in Italy, either with Genoa or another club.

For Juventus and Inter, they could try to offer Genoa a player plus cash offer to try and reach the quoted price. The Bianconeri can offer Argentine midfielder, Enzo Barrenechea, who is currently on loan at Frosinone while for the Nerazzurri, they can offer the likes of Mattia Zanotti, the brothers Esposito, Sebastiano and Francesco Pio in an exchange.
